GDPR Countdown to 25th May 2018:
Are you ready?
Regardless of the UK’s impending exit from the EU, 2 factors will determine why UK companies who do business across Europe will need to adhere to GDPR when it comes into force in May 2018.

Companies wanting to continue to do business in the EU, and who gather and maintain individual’s data, will need to adhere to GDPR regardless of whether the UK has left the EU.
Based on previous experience of government-led change programs where significant project drag often takes place, the UK may still be in the EU for a significant period of time after GDPR comes into force in May 2018. Therefore, UK companies will need to comply with GDPR.

This being the case, organisations across all sectors where there is significant customer data being used in transactions (or who have individual’s data stored for sales prospecting purposes), will need to start preparing now for May 2018.
