In 2003, Agile Solutions was engaged by a leading insurance subsidiary of the banking group to recommend a Data Warehouse solution for the company. This led to the first introduction of PowerCenter into the group.

In 2004, Agile developed the first PowerCenter application within the retail bank to provide financial reporting and control information. Later that year, Agile started work on helping the group meet its Basel II requirements. Starting from a core team of six which grew as the program expanded, we provided a steadily maturing Risk Platform solution to the program.

Furthermore, Agile began work on a program to migrate all of the Group's divisions on to a single General Ledger platform. We were responsible for the delivery of a set of complex data interfaces to the bank’s new ledger platform, project managed by us with the use of the Agile methodologies. This helped to prove that the Agile methodologies - commonly used in User Interface or on-line projects - could also be employed successfully in large data integration projects. Not only did we meet our deadlines, we also delivered the full suite of interfaces to support the new General Ledger platform and a Data Warehouse application to supplement the GL reports with a considerable amount of additional reporting capability.

In addition to these large projects, Agile's consultants have helped numerous smaller projects by providing them with specialist consultancy advice in the use of PowerCenter which included:

  • Application performance improvement
  • Powercenter training for almost 100 permanent staff
